| midrange said: No, here's why: (1) compelling system selling software - tie, no console is having must have software coming up. While there may be a case for Nintendo's upcoming games to sell well, that does not detract from the fact that they cater to the Nintendo fanbase which already bought the wii u. (2) successor - vita. Nintendo wants to move on. It's as plain as day to see, and with the new president also expressing his reluctance with the wii u, it seems all the more likely that Nintendo will rush out their next home console killing the wii u earlier. Sony on the other hand is showing no signs of a vita successor and may actually be reluctant to do so when weighing the risk of going against mobile phones/tablets. (3) power (reletaive towards domain)- vita. The ps4 and xbone started off with great starts, but only recently are they becoming more commonplace with upcoming games showcasing power that is exclusive to next gen. Since the wii u does not have that kind of power, it will often be eliminated as a consideration for next gen. The vita, on the other hand, has plenty of room to grow compared to the 3ds. In the end, the vita may have issues, but the wii u has just as much, if not more, leaving the vita in a position where it can comfortably maintain its lead |
(1) Dont agree, Super Mario Maker that was out few days ago is must have software for platform lovers, Xenoblade X for JRPG lovers,Pokken Fighters is also must have, I dont need to mention Zelda U, we can say that Star Fox Zero is must have for Star Fox fans and Fatal Frame V for Fatal Frame and horor fans and it very likely we will get another Wii U game, maybe Pikmin 4.. All this games are exclusives (except maybe Zelda U), on other hand Vita is having 3rd party support mainly in Japan only and even those games are mainly multiplatform.
(3) Power isn't problem, if power is a problem Vita wouldn't sell 5x worse than 3DS.
(2) Agree, and I think that will be main reason why Vita will sell better than Wii U, but I dont think Nintendo will rush out new console, fact is that Nintendo home console have life span around 5 years, PSP for instance is discontinued last year around 10 years on market, Vita will be probably be last Sony handheld and Sony will certainly not will not rush to discontinued it.
