Here's to hoping that SMM goes on to sell very well by having legs similar to Minecraft and staying relevant for a very long time.

It did, though. It was only beaten by Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros. Wii U and Nintendo Land.

Thanks for pointing that out, I totally forgot about Nintendoland.  I guess it's pretty tough to beat a launch title that ships with the console!
