I'm guessing it's because it's due to the tendency of many QBs to stick too much to a called play, they go through it almost on muscle memory. It explains why they throw to receivers sometimes who have totally missed the play. I guess some plays don't offer the room to reevaluate, but great QBs tend to read things better that what we've seen here for sure.
I love seeing a blown play and the QB spins out and finds an alternative and nails it.
