In regards to the platformer audience, while I do agree that it's relatively small in comparison to previous PlayStation consoles, it was still big enough to allow games like Knack, LBP3 and Rayman Legends to sell (to be fair, 2 of the 3 are established IPs, but still).

I do agree that the release date did not do it any favors either. But even then, why did Until Dawn do so well in comparison when it released only a couple weeks prior? Is it because it's more mature and the UK prefers that?

I think the strongest point is perhaps the lack of hype and marketing. I'm really surprised Sony didn't push this more. Maybe they'll take the LBP3 route and just promote it over time, but even then, LBP3 got at least some marketing before launch.

It's probably a combination of all of these, as you said. It's just weird and it sucks because I think the game deserves more.
