maybe he didn't have any direct game development experience, but he was part of metroid prime, mario party 5,6, etc. with special thanks. if you are asking what did he contributed to those games, we don't have any in-depth knowledge.
good thing that Nintendo has announced it, and surely they'll try to get more share on the western market as it is really way bigger than Japan in terms of sales, which Nintendo needs in order to survive the gaming industry.
