Honestly felt like sm4sh was not really an improvement from the previous games. The physics and lack of tripping/other gimmicks make the actual fighting better than brawl, but it's single player was much worse than the Subspace Emissary imo. And to me it is a step back from melee (call me a purist), but that's mostly because I don't play smash games casually, so movement options and combos are a lot more important to me than the graphics and large roster that sm4sh has to offer over Melee. It was impossible to convince myself that I would ever be interested enough in sm4sh to play in tournaments so I've pretty much dropped it after maybe 50 hours or so of game time. I probably place it 2nd or 3rd behind melee and maybe 64.
