PC products push the limits, and early adopters accept a high rate of failure to have their toes hang off the edge of technology. Apple products play it safe, and make their products enjoyable for the biggest technophobe. Most people besides creators need any apple product, because they are a boutique item, they sell well to any person unwiiling to learn about PC's or are scared of technology. |
Realistically Apple laughs at the game industry in general. They could buy Nintendo and it wouldn't even dent their cash reserves which are larger than Microsoft and Google combined. Their cash reserves are larger than the US, British, German, French, and Canadian governments too.
They've basically destroyed the handheld part of the gaming market without even really trying or making a single game on their own. On a daily basis more people will play video games on an iPhone or iPad than all the Playstation, XBox, Wii, and 3DS consoles combined.
And who knows. If it tickles their fancy, they could always some day release a Apple TV Pro that has a much higher end chipset too. But again, to Apple taking on the gaming dinosaurs is small potatoes. They laugh at Sony, that company is not even a bug on their windshield in the grand scheme of things.
