- debuts November 20

- premise of the story revolves around Jessica Jones (Jewel), a girl who lost her parents and went into coma after a trip to Disney tragically ended into a car accident with a military convoy carrying chemicals that gave her superpowers (super strength and flying ability). She sees her classmate Spider-Man and Sandman fighting each other and decides to become Jewel and fight crime. She then loses her powers and works as a private detective.

- Netflix is referring to the show as a "psychological thriller", the original comics are for mature audiences, featuring swearing and sex scenes. Jones character is sarcastic.

- main character will be portrayed by Krysten Ritter, of Breaking Bad fame:

- the series was developed by Melissa Rosenberg (previously a writer on The O.C., head writer for Dexter, Step Up and the Twilight series)

- series are part of Netflix's "Defender" series, Daredevil, released in the spring, was just the first in a series of Netflix shows about a group of heroes called “The Defenders,” a sort of on-the-street, gritty version of the Avengers.
