You're a regular on the Amazon threads, why would you not see a PS4 win coming? Amazon has a proven, nearly infallible record at predicting the NPD winner. Anyone who follows the Amazon thread should never be surprised by the NPD result.

I will never question Amazon ever again. Also the playstation domination is real.

I wouldn;t call it domination until we see the actual PS4 number. Even though PS4 certainly won the month, we have no idea about the gap. It might be fairly close (like 10K or so) and that could hardly be called domination.

@ others Why on earth would anyone think Rare Replay would push Xb one sales? The only real thing MS had this month was Madden marketing, and Sony effectively negated that by pulling a Microsoft and doing an unofficial Madden bundle. The Best Buy TV deal was something, but it was a cheap TV and it was only one retailer. It's only probable effect was to shift the market share balance of XB one sales towards Best Buy but not shift sales away from PS4 to Xb one.

I am dumbfounded at PS4 being up YoY again. It makes a 2015 price cut even less likely if it can be up YoY in it's most competitive market against its main competition which is $50 cheaper than it was last year. At this point Sony is possibly afraid of cutting the price as they could experience major supply shortages if they did. They should aim a price cut for May/June next year when sales are generally low and thus spread the increased demand created from a price cut over an extended time period, and at the same time have a longer lead in to prepare for the holidays. I suppose there will be a slim model next year.
