I think apple are aiming to conquer the micro console/media device market with the apple tv not the hardcode console market.

Sony doesn't really have much to be worried about. 

MS and Nintendo, it probably stings a bit more because MS really wanted that whole "ONE stop for the living room is XBox and Windows!" and Nintendo has basically lost all their casuals and large chunk of their kids audience to Apple.
