GTAIV sold 1.3 million on a console with under 5 million installbase. While MarioKart sold 1.2 million on a console with over 11 million installbase.

Nintendo purposefully held back consoles last week. I don't remember anybody saying last week that PS360 defeated Wii in US.. why should there be a difference this week?

 

I mean hardware, both of the console doesn't sell so well compare to Wii....

Remember what did the PR of both Sony & M$ said, they were preparing for GTA IV... and now what?

They were creating more console, so they should sell more....

They have lower user base, it means that they have more opportunity to be purchased... they should sell more..

T2 shouldn't care it, Sony & M$ should...

You know what, I really think that people grap a Wii when they bought GTA IV, look at the attachment rate of SMG and SSBB.......

When are we going to stop judging Wii's hardware sales as if it's some kind of consumer buying trend? I remember last week it was at 69K in NA and behind BOTH PS3 and 360, I don't remember anybody saying it was doomed? Wii will sell, at that price-point, almost as many as they can ship. The fact Nintendo shipped that many is no coincident. They wanted to push Mario Kart Wii, sell hardware AND kill off hypes of GTAIV.

 

So far.. they are only 1/3.

Mario Kart got WHIPPED by both GTAIV versions. (lost)
Wii sold as many as they can ship (won)
GTAIV hype is bigger than ever (lost)

 

Next week, you will probably see Wii back to their bi-monthly low, while PS360 will be around over 100K again.

 

I am not bashing Wii......I am bashing Sony & M$, M'kay? Because of what? Because they don't put their effort enough...stockpilling for GTA IV was just bullshit.....

& I've talked about the business model also + Recession + some stupid Box office & Gaming sales theory

Nintendo reverse the market, what should Sony & M$ do to cover back the market again?

If Wii continue to win the war, we are going to have more Mario xxx games again and other Never ending franchise, plus more stupid Game Party like game http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=25852&start=0 , they should be equivalent in the market, and it will create competition for making better games.

 

p/s: where is Project HAMMER? If they realease it earlier, maybe we will have it in SSBB

Nintendo never reversed the market, they just brought over the DS's new gain ownership. Those who loves casual games, people who consider themselves "casual gamer".

I don't understand the whole "stockpilling for GTAIV"... you'd think selling close to 4 million copies as "stockpile", on top of that, having enough console to ensure everyone who walks into the door the change to secure one.

Funny.. I remember DS is winning handheld war with "more stupid Game Party like games" (to quote you), and yet PSP is still getting its own share of good games.

 

Let's face it, you can't stop Wii and casual gamer. As long as the trend of crappy mini-games don't come on my console, I could really care less what the library of games look like in consoles I don't own.

 

P.S. I find it funny how anyone could think Mario Kart somehow defeated GTAIV... Is Wii beating PS360? Absolutely, It always have and always will in public demand category.

My bad is Stockpiling, What I mean is the PR spin of low hardware sale between Sony & M$ between Jan to March 08, they said that they both are preparing for GTA IV (like Xbox 360 shortage...huh? Xbox 360 shortage? weird tho) this come back to my earlier talk...

What I have been talking is about M$ & Sony's hardware, not necessary related to T2's software copies, I am bashing both of them because I want them to have better sales and better strategies!

No,you are such a prejudice & bias guy, you don't even look at that article, Game Party is a title for Wii, what it represent is Bad game with Good sales...... and you don't even know what diversity of games DS got....

those are the best selling titles on DS, they are not Party game okay? & they represent different type & genre, not just one type.

I am bashing for both Sony & M$ for not putting their effort enough and also query about the monopolization of the Wii, not just the bias fanboy talk.

We should look at the overall market, not just being a defense force, and think about what should they(S & M) do on regaining the market. TNintendo did reversed the market and expanded it, this is the fact you can't denied. Just look at the percentage of Wii, is already 45%
