Does Nintendo often announce controversial games but they end up really good?

Most of these games had very little to do with Sony... Dust514 was entirely developed by CCP games I believe.

Otherwise, I don't recall many of these games being ripped on; I myself was excited for quite a few of these in fact though, in the case of Dust514, I was very much let down. We're talking about games that people initially dislike but are eventually swayed.

Most of those? Only one is not published by Sony, that's Dust 514. The rest all were published by Sony.

Also let's not forget MotorStorm and Wipeout were risky, and Gran Turismo and God Of War were huge risks when they were made. Of course now they aren't risks anymore, but at the time of their release there was nothing like them in the market.
