Lot of typos in my earlier post due to the fact that, whenever I post from my phone, I can't see what I told (thanks alot, KFC pop up ad).

I can't define what a "huge chunk" is.  A lot of people did move to PlayStation and Xbox.  I'm one of them.  A few stuck with Nintendo.  A few quit gaming altogether as gaming got more and more complicated.  Nintendo themselves designed the Wii to get some of those gamers back.  There wereinterIews saying the wii remote was designed to look like a tv remote because it was less intimidating than a controller.

I personally know people who gamed during the NES generation that thought the super NES was too complicated.  It happens.
