Lol You're like a broken record dude.We get it. You don't like anything new and everything old is godlike. Could you be more of a gaming hipster?

Still a young generation, I'm sure there'll be some great games. I'm getting Fallout 4 day one, MGS pretty soon and Uncharted 4 next year. It's not all hopeless, but so far it feels underwhelming for me, Bloodborne is not my cup of tea and Titanfall and Destiny were both rather big letdowns.
That leaves annual franchises, remakes and the handful of Nintendo exclusives that we get every gen, not my idea of a fantastic generation so far.

"You don't like anything new and everything old is godlike" is a silly statement. What's been so fantastic about the 8th gen so far? And what's wrong with being critical of the direction the industry has taken?

Splatoon and Super Mario Maker are new, fresh and unique experiences we've never gotten before though. They really stand out, even among Nintendo exclusives. Much better than the new experiences we got last gen with Nintendo tbh (even if they were a lot more succesful, they weren't very durable, long lasting or good).

Nintendo have the best library for now, in my opinion anyway. I haven't played a lot Splatoon but it seems to feature quite a few things I would take issue with, I tried it a couple of weeks ago at work (one of the boys there is a Nintendo nut!), it seemed like decent entertainment but nothing near the level of Mario Kart, for instance. And the only online competitive shooters I play are TF2 and Battlefield 4, which have very little in common with Splatoon. Mario Maker is not my  cup of tea, level building and similar things just aren't my thing, despite loving world building in roleplaying games when I grew up.

And that's sort of my whole point; OP and many others seem to be swimming in titles they want, and I'm not. And that comes down to preference, games like Driveclub are off the map for me as well since I don't really like arcade racers.
To be fair; the PC hasn't been rife with super titles either so far during the 8th gen of consoles.

I'm not trying to be cool and I certainly don't hate everything new (in fact; The Witcher 3 slipped right into my top 5 games of all time) and love everything old (most old games are shit, but a huge backlog will have a growing number of classics, that cannot be denied). For me, personally, the 8th gen seems like a continuation of the 7th, for better and for worse, I also care little for the increased focus on exposure and sharing and online bells and whistles when what I'm usually looking for is a good single player experience.
