Until Dawn also sold more than DI 3.0. TBH I think that's a more impressive achievement than Gears, given the historical popularity of Gears.

With all the positivity arounf Until Dawn I think it shold have reasonable legs. I didn't think Until Dawn was likely to hit 1 million globally, but I now think perhaps it will.

God of War was/is also a famous franchise and didn't manage to reach number 1 with fewer releases. I mean, it's just the way you look at it. If you prefer Xbox, you look at number 1, if you prefer Playstation, you look at number 2. Everyone wants to spin positive news out of it and that's ok. Making an achievement look smaller than it is is just not useful. Until Dawn is good at number 2, Gears of War on one even better.

Whether one thing is more impressive than the other is up to the individuals to judge but the discussion won't end in something both can agree with.

God Of War isn't big in the UK though. Gears Of War is enormous there. Not to mention that God Of War III is remaster which looks pretty much the same as the original and is the third game in the series, while Gears Of War: UE is a remake and the first game in the series. So of course people will have different expecations for the two games.
