I'm very interested in the compact-series, because I love to use my phone with only one hand. My Samsung S4 mini and the old iPhones (up to 5S) are the perfect size for my hand: ~60 mm width. The 65 mm width of the Z1/3/5 compact or the 67 mm width of an iPhone 6 are already a compromise, anything bigger (or heavier than 150 g) is a no-go for me.
- Within these size/weight limits the Z1/3/5 compact and the iPhone 5S/6 are almost the only phones with fast SOCs.
- Within these size/weight limits the Z1/3/5 compact and the iPhone 5S/6 are almost the only phones with good cameras.
- Within these size/weight limits the Z1/3/5 compact are almost the only phones with 2 GB RAM.
- Within these size/weight limits the Z1/3/5 compact are almost the only phones with water + dust resistence.
- Within these size/weight limits the Z3/5 compact are almost? the only phones with a great battery life.
- Within these size/weight limits the Z1/3/5 compact are almost the only phones with good specs and a microSD-slot.
- Remote play is another big plus, but it ain't a deciding factor.
Although I'm no fan of the glass on the backside, I really don't see an alternative to a Z3 compact or Z5 compact for me... do you?
Now I'm waiting for reviews of the Z5 compact... are the additional 16GB flash memory and slightly better camera worth the price difference to the Z3 compact? Is the battery life of the Z5 compact better or worse? Does the Snapdragon 810 get (too?) hot or throttles down constantly in that tiny case? Is the Snapdragon 801 of the Z3 compact perhaps even better suited for small phones?
