It was done very well in Infinite Undiscovery, so I'm glad to see more games trying to adopt that system.

Infinite Undiscovery didn't have any load times at all it is also somewhat underrated.  That being said I pretty much liked all the other action JRPG's from the last generation more except maybe for Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World (PS3 version).
