Fair enough, but cars are mainstream and drunk driving is a huge cause of deaths in the US so it's not as if after people get their liscence they always drive saftley. Some people just rush to where they have to go be that work or a meeting. Also, if a 3D printing liscence is as easy as car liscense it only proves my point more. As I stated above you would really need a lot of police technology on the thing like passkeys, always online, and gun recongition software. Of course the shooter will probably look up a youtube video of how to hack his 3D printer and bypass the security system. This is assuming that this issue is even adressed when they go into production for commercial use because the average person isn't going to make guns with the intent of killing people. |
The point is, if there is no gun control anyway, what difference will 3D printing make? It would probably more effort to print your gun than to get a real one.
“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
