I'm not into wooly world due to platformer fatigue on wii u. Rayman legends, tropical freeze, new super mario bros u,... it gets harder and harder to find creative platformers after these 3. Mario maker on the other hand is a level editor in the vein of little big planet. That's pretty big. In terms of genres, we are missing stealth/fighting/driving sim/first person shooter/puzzle/mmo/3d platformer and more. Not only that, but some of those games you mentioned are not heavy hitters. Star fox zero does not look promising. Mario party has gone downhill for most (including me) with the inclusion of the car mechanic. I have never had the slightest idea of fatal frame's existence and would rather buy zombiu first at a cheaper price than fatal frame. Splatoon I just don't find too special to warrant $60. The problem is both quantity and variation in genres. That's why I gave wii u a 3 and the 3ds a 6. |
What good games did the 3DS get this year? I only bought MM 3D.
Why does it matter to this discussion if a game is a heavy hitter or not?
Like I said, the games that did release/are releasing ARE varied, it's the quantity that's lacking.
Splatoon's SP campaign is basically a 3D platformer.
I found NSMBU to be very bland and uncreative btw.
Star Fox is looking a little bit better in the latest footage:
