Yoshi's Woolly World: 2D platformer (if you like Mario platformers you should like this) Splatoon: third person shooter Mario Party 10: party game Super Mario Maker: level editor (which makes it a totally different beast than Yoshi's Woolly World) anùd 2%D platformer. Star Fox Zero: on-rails shooter Fatal Frame V: survival horror game Fast Racing Neo: futuristic racer Xenoblade Chronicles X: JRPG Pretty varied list of games/genres if you ask me... I think your problem is quantity instead of variation in genres. |
I'm not into wooly world due to platformer fatigue on wii u. Rayman legends, tropical freeze, new super mario bros u,... it gets harder and harder to find creative platformers after these 3. Mario maker on the other hand is a level editor in the vein of little big planet. That's pretty big.
In terms of genres, we are missing stealth/fighting/driving sim/first person shooter/puzzle/mmo/3d platformer and more. Not only that, but some of those games you mentioned are not heavy hitters. Star fox zero does not look promising. Mario party has gone downhill for most (including me) with the inclusion of the car mechanic. I have never had the slightest idea of fatal frame's existence and would rather buy zombiu first at a cheaper price than fatal frame. Splatoon I just don't find too special to warrant $60.
The problem is both quantity and variation in genres. That's why I gave wii u a 3 and the 3ds a 6.
