I have a very strict policy against download only content but the second the disc based version of this game was announced I was all over it, the game was recommended several times by different friends so I know is good.
About the amiibo, I am not sure, the figurine looks cool and the extra content that it unlocks is also good, besides if you really want to play the extra content you don't need to buy it just get one lent from a friend (or amiibo collector who opens the package), it is the first third party produced amiibo, so there is no reason to believe that there will be shortage (who am I kidding?, of course there will be)
Summary, I am buying both the game and the amiibo.
