If good guys don't win lots of people will complain saying that the whole story is pointless. Writers and companies may decide against such backlash.
Some of us appreciate stories that take unexpected turns, characters whose fate can't be taken for granted (thinking they'll always have the last laugh), etc. but there are a lot of people who find it unacceptable that the antagonists could triumph in the end.
But having a superhero die is a tough one when sequels bring the $$$. Maybe some superheros will die once current actors portraying current comic book characters must be put to rest because of age/decide to move on. Then companies will put an end to them to be brought back later on by new actors.
