Dark and grounded works well for Daredevil just like it works well for Batman
If you have aliens and crazy powers and try to keep it grounded or scientific you get a silly mix of theme and plot (Fantastic 4). Age of Ultron had great writing, character development, and cinematography as did Daredevil so I'm gonna say as long as they get those basics done as well as they have right now I'm good with both tones.
