There's zero excuse for police men shooting unarmed people to death. Something that happens frequently in the USA. US is a mix of European elements (thus creating something new yes). And just because you don't want a debate about the gun policy in the USA doesn't mean we don't need it. And just because someone wants to make gun laws stricter, doesn't mean that they think that alone will fix everything. Stricter gun laws don't come at the cost of other ideas to improve the crime rates in the USA. |
The vast majority of the time, a cop will not shoot someone unless they did something to warrant it. Cops get killed in the line of duty over $100 tickets or because some people didn't want to go to jail for a few days. Because of this, cops have to be careful with people they deal with and have to determine if a someone poses a threat to them in a span of sec or two. A cop can't read a person's mind so he or she has to go by a person's actions to determine how compliant they will be and their intentions. Cops do not have to wait til they are shot at to shoot someone. All it takes is for a cop to think that a person poses a reasonable threat to their life.
Actually, democrats fixate on wanting to make guns laws redicously stricter but they can't. It costs untold of amounts of money to fight over it and it goes nowhere but in circles. It draws attention away from other solutions to crime and other problems.
You want to focus on something that can not be changed but only by a tiny degree. There's no point on beating a dead horse. It's a done deal. In what other ways, do you think america can do to make it's streets safer (lower crime overall) besides making stricter gun laws?
