Nice gesture, but being able to pick out songs is better than a discount, anyday.

Certainly. However, and I'm back on topic, it is still at least showing that the company is listening to its Wii/PS2-owning fans, which is a nice gesture, and certainly better than nothing at all.

The game just went from guarnteed suck to a good deal, despite its inferiority to the original AAA version of Rock Band.

If Harmonix decides to offer more than one of these compilation CD's for replacement of DLC, it could turn out pretty good.

The thing is, imo, the quality of the songs you don't DL, on RockBand, often eludes you. Some of my favorite songs on Guitar Hero are songs I never thought I would like or care for. Turns out I was wrong about them. I am more than willing to be wowed by songs I never heard of and songs I would probably have never downloaded, being added to a compilation CD. It will balance and diversify the experience verses picking only songs you know and like.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.
