I think that Retro game is almost certain for NX launch or NXs first year. Probably we will see it next year on E3.

I wonder what it could be. It's certainly not Metroid and I really don't see them work on a Diddy Kong Racing game. That's something Monster Games would make!

Why you think its not Metroid!?

I don't think Nintendo will give Monster Games to make alone Diddy Kong Racing, very possible with Retro help.
