I'm 100% postive that patents are never 100% guaranteed to be 100% accurate nor represent a finalized product.

Changes to appearance and design are givens, omitting basic functionality points are virtually never done.

The entire purpose of a patent is to demonstrate the basic functonality of the product you are patenting, omitting basic functions such as a hardware game slot or optical drive has never, ever been done on a single home console or handheld console patent.

Do you know why?, because omitting it makes the patent worthless.

With the price of higher capacity flash memory dropping to an all time low, what possible reason would Nintendo have to include a HDD in their console (the first time they have ever done so) if they were planning to run game media from a cartidge or optical disk.
