It may not be a full sized LCD display, could be just a smaller one in the middle I suppose.

That would explain Nintendo's deal with Sharp for free form LCD displays (though it could be for QoL too). 

In theory it sounds nice but i don't think it would be very pratical as your hands would cover half the controller, thus half the screen.

My idea was more on a free form type of display.
If you look at the pro controller, where it says battery, imagine if that area had a LCD free-form display to show data. I think it would look really nice and sophisticated.
