I don't understand why it's so difficult to scale games up and down. PC developers do it all the time, even with completely seperate GPU manufacturers and CPU manufacturers and wildly differing RAM configs. Smash 4 is exactly an example of something Nintendo would want to get away from ... it's a tremendous development head ache to have to make two different versions of a game, a big waste of resources. Also I doubt Nintendo is going to give you two experiences for free out of their goodness of their hearts. |
I think you're taking what I said too literally. I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm saying there's more to it. When I used Smash 4 as an example, I was literally just talking about the exclusive features. So the base game would be just a scaling measure. But then, after that is ironed out, they will add bells and whistles to each version to make them special. Smash Run vs. Smash Party garbage.
That's all I was getting at. Not two different versions. To similar, but not identical versions. And it won't be free. It will be incorperated into the budget of the game. You're acting like those little features revolutionize the games. They aren't massive differences. They're little extras. If anything, it would be purposefully exluding content from specific versions to incentivise owning both.
