first, there is a new type of Pokemon called Fairy type.its super effective against Dragon, Dark, and Fighting and weak against Steel and Poison. also, Dragon type moves have no effect on it.
there are also mega evolutions. during a battle, if your Pokemon is holding its respective mega stone you can temporarily mega evolve it into a more powerful form. it reverts back to normal after the battle though.
