It was an amazing game. It just suffered being called a sequel. But not really being one. To be a true sequel. You really need to stick to the primary characters. Or the original characters/story are used in some way. But if the references are so small. Or hidden. Or covered up in Matrix 2/3 size plot issues. People just consider it as not a continuation. Then the hate roles in. Since now the game is lying to everyone.

It's like what's going on now with Federation Force. All intended purposes, it should be a good game. But since people expect a Metroid a certain way. It will be hated and become shit. I love this game. I played both CT and CC. But many years later. So I didn't developed the hate when people where waiting for CC in 1999/2000. It should be on peoples love lists. But it's Zelda II, for the series. It's too bad Square didn't want to make a 3rd game and go back to the first games story. And then tried to salvage CC later. Nintendo could of stopped making Zelda at 2. But they didn't. And went back to the style of 1.

Everything in CC relates to CT

Not for people who played the first game. And didn't REALLY get into the story. From a basic level. It has convoluted nods and connections.

Huh? Its not dependent on if you played first or not. Everything in CC connects to CT.

I didn't say it was dependent. I meant the connections are too burried and convoluted for a lot of people. Which is why people turned on the game. It didn't feel like a sequal. Too much hunting down. Not enough direct explnations. And lack of closer to the first games characters.

Oh ok. You are correct then.
