Aerys said: So : - The prologue, the first hours are excellent, very good atmosphere, discovering gameplay richness with high quality level design is really fun, the OST fits well to the situations. - Then the game becomes more and more repetitive, boring because of the open world not really mastered, a diluted narration and the gameplay system breaking the rythm. - They didnt like being forced to complet a lot of side repetitive missions to progress in the main story ( that's why i compared it to Xenoblade X ) - The game lacks of variety, they felt the open world wasnt exploited at all. ( they compare with recent open world games like Batman and TW3 to say this one feels really limited in comparison ) - Cinematics are very rare, the script is vague even until the end - Those who liked Peace Walker should like this one - The main story takes 50h ( including all the obligatory side missions ) - MGS V is still fascinating despite all these flaws Pretty much this |
Sigh
They're not mandatory in Xenoblade.

They are mandatory in Xenoblade ( on Wii U) , not all obviously but a lot like in MGS V if you want to progress in the story
