He means this years E3 conference at least in terms of first party I think. In other posts in the thread, after making this comment, he's talking about this years E3 conference saying that it mostly stood out because of the nostalgia trio and that PGW is not going to be like this and will instead have new first party games. That's at least what I'm reading into it.

If he is talking in term of number of announcements, it could be true, at the end, the fact a IP is new doesnt make the announcement better if the game is ambitious
