I know it's Obon week in most of japan.
That said, even before Splatoon never dropped below 20k, so I doubt the drop will be as big as you expect. It will drop below 30k, but then continue between 20and 30k for the next few weeks before finally dropping below 20k. Seeling how deep MK8 will have dropped by then, 3-5 weeks seem very probable to me. Also, the announced eSports tournament will probably push the sales again.
