I can imagine PS Experience showing games that will be available globally, for a global console helped global sales. Seeing as Sony did win last holiday season single handedly.

It doesn't though. Not even E3 helps sales much. The sales don't really increase until the games they announce actually release.

I bought a ps4 last July after E3 because I couldn't wait much longer and would rather spend the money now and have more to buy games later. E3 sold consoles for Microsoft this year. Conferences do boost sales "this awesome shit it coming, jump in now to not miss it later" similar logic to pre ordering.
