If Avatar has a 10 or 20 year anniversary re release can it pass the 3 billion mark?

You can say that for a lot of movies released in the last few years. Every few months a movie comes around and breaks a few records, and then is forgotten about instantly (Fast, Avengers, frozen etc) 

As for the topic, no, no rerelease could push it to 3 Billion. The inevitable double runs etc will only be shown in limited theatres and the ''4K'' or whatever else Fox comes up with won't work either. 

The max a rerelease could do is probably 10m domestic and maybe 50m international. 

Avatar 2 will not break 2 billion either. 

I meant Avatar shattered records, and yet no one I know refers to it, quotes it, or references it in any way.  Frozen is still big among girls and even adults I know that love Disney will say lines from it, probably the biggest Disney film since Lion King.  Avengers and its characters are massive in the boy's toy aisle and those characters are cultural icons.  At Halloween this year I know I'll see a few Elsa and Iron Man knocking at my door.  I cannot think of ever seeing blue Avatar aliens around that time.

How much do you think Avatar 2 will gross? My guess is 1.4 billion, or half of the original.
