There is no in-between a remaster and a remake, its either a remaster or a remake, and in SOD's case the way I see it they really only upgraded some assets, resolution and framerate. The difference you've experienced might be due toa bigger jump in framerate, still though, its not even close to being a remake. In GOW III R's case as well, the jump in framerate really does have an effect on gameplay, so it does feel like a much better experience than the original. TLOU R though, now that doesn't feel too different from TLOU despite having upgraded assets, but then it includes Left Behind DLC too. |
They have improved the character models and textures in SOD and the framerate is much better aswell. Plus it also includes all the DLC like TLOU-R, but its ok we dont have to include it because its on PC aswell which defeats the point of this list.
I believe there is a level of remasters you can buy, those that only upscale the res and framerate and those that do a complete make over. SOD isnt a remake but everything was looked at, It isnt a major jump like Gears Ultimate to Gears 360 but the game had a higher attention to detail compared to other remasters we have seen this gen.
