Would be better for consumers if MS and Nintendo just aligned together.

I don't buy the "more competition is better" ... it's not when MS/Nintendo have only been competitive with Sony for like 5 of 15 years.

Having two weak competitors versus one strong competitor is not better for the consumer. Sony could probably go through the entire generation now and win still without even dropping their price once.

Nintendo Xbox 4realz?l ol

Why not? Where's the benefit to me to have to pay $400 (plus another $60 controller) for another piece of hardware just to get all the games I want to play?

Neither Nintendo or MS seem to be going anywhere in the console biz anyways, both are back to where they were like 15 years ago, pretty much the exact same spot, with the exact same problems. Same rut, spinning their wheels again.

Unless Sony does something stupid, like make a $600 console again ($700+ adjusted with inflation) or one of the two finds a miracle controller again, basically they're both probably stuck in the same rut for another 10+ years.
