ugh. The games sold around 4 million from 2003 to 2006, but declined with the PS3 transition, with the low point seeming to be 2011, when the annual iteration failed to reach 2 million Declined with the PS3 transition, ya know around the same time the X360 release and it declining on PS was definitely due to it selling more on Xbox. And also, from 2003-2006 when it was at its highest it sold around 4 million. Yet the low oint FOR PS was 2011? PS+Xbox combined it still sold 4.28m in 2011. Additionally 'Madden NFL 15 suggests the series is recovering' because the PS4 is beating the Xbox One. So obviously a larger portion of the sales will be on PS systems this gen than they were last gen. So yeah, Madden sales on PS systems declined because the Xbox came along and a lot of people started buying them there instead. |
I'm pretty sure that if you take a look at the install base for Gamecube, Xbox and PS2 in 2004, then compare it to 2013, or whatever year you'd like, you'd see that the attach rate for Madden back then was much, much higher.
