NBC wants to take a different approach to superhero stories and has ordered a pilot for 'POWERLESS', a half-hour comedy series about ordinary people complaining/dealing with superheroes news/awareness of their existance.
- Part of DC Universe
- single camera TV Series a la The Office
- Series creator is Ben Queen (cancelled TV Series: A to Z, Drive TV Series, Cars 2)
- The focus of the series is on the ordinary, “power-less” folk working at the insurance company who often envy the men and women outside their window who make headlines with their supernatural powers.
- is a workplace comedy set at one of the worst insurance companies in America — with the twist being that it also takes place in the universe of DC Comics. The show is about the reality of working life for a normal, powerless person in a world of superheroes and villains.
- No mention of which superheroes could be making appearances in the show yet (DC has Green Arrow, Supergirl, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Gotham TV Series going on), but no expectation of seeing the most popular characters: Batman and Superman
