Evidence says otherwise...

what evidence?
because ps4 is often hovering around the 50 in the hourly?
that does not euqal to good sales and an listing in the monthly.

the xb1 500gb no game sku is also often hovering around the 60 - 80s and does not chart in the monthly
bloodborn in july. was never high in the hourly. primeday sales happed. it shoot to #1 in the hourly and #3 or somthing like that in the mothly.
it fall off in the hourly quickly, but ended up #14 for the whole month, while being high in the top 100 hourly for just a few days

hourly sales ranking does not automatically equal to high sales for the month

you need to understand first how amazon charts work, before you come to any "evidence conclusion"
tl;dr amazon monthly charts and tracking of the ps4 no games sku was never broken and is fixed finally, just because the sku is charting now.

No, I actually have real evidence. It might be surprising, but the author of the Amazon threads pay rather close attention to the Amazon charts, and there was at least one item that never once charted above the PS4 standalone in the hourlies, but still managed to chart in the monthly while the PS4 standalone was absent, namely the PS4 vertical stand (http://www.amazon.com/PS4-Vertical-Stand-Cooling-PlayStation-4/dp/B00TEDK8FQ/ref=zg_bsar_videogames_99 ). Now, obviously, had the charts been functioning properly like you claim, then that couldn't have happened, which tells me that the monthly charts weren't functioning properly.
