it still make sense, they wanted the people who bought the game to try to familiarize themselves with the limited options at first and not to try everything at once. like baby steps at first. I know it is not the best thing they have done. And GameExplain have a better option to have it unlock it within an hour for each group/set. It is a minor thing compared to what they have done to Splatoon and it is just 9 days. :)
Better to pre-order it and get it on day 1 so we can unlock everything early. :)
