I don't mention it when I meet new people for the first time unless it happens to come up. I do have a few game-related shirts that I wear quite often though. All my friends and family know I am passionate about gaming. I don't think its anything to be ashamed of.. It may bring up the geeky, basement-dwelling stereotype to some, but I don't usually associate myself with people who assume things like that so I could care less.
Gaming is definitely part of me and I couldn't imagine it not being part of my life at least in some way.
