In my experience no. Doesn't always mean it's a good thing though...

You get what you deserve. If you put the work in and are willing to push yourself then people will take notice and you'll do well. If you just rest up and don't have ambition, you'll fail. I've seen both examples quite closely for a long time and I know which one I want to be.

As for relationships I don't think girls are all that interested in the badass in the long term, they want someone who can look after them, someone to trust and talk to and to make them feel better about themselves. In this respect nice guys tend to do better in the long game but have more difficulty getting that far in the first place.

Overall, then, you can't stereotype or throw a blanket over everyone because everyone is different. I'll keep on being who I am because that seems to be working, but others are free to do what is best for them. We're all different after all
