Those using the excuse of those gamers who have missed out is complete BS. Most gamers last gen ended up with both consoles and even if some didn't get the chance to play those games, they can also go out and buy a PS3 and the games at a much cheaper price. Its not like these consoles and games are obsolete.

What I don't get is that most gamers have kept there PS3s because the PS4 isn't BC. So why would they want to buy the games again on PS4? And why should they invest to buy a expensive console when there's a much cheaper alternative in the PS3?

Why the hell would I do that? A friend lent me a PS3 and I enjoyed what I experienced, but I had to return the console.  I bought my own PS4 and already have the Nathan Drake Collection preordered (because of playing U3 on PS3). Id gladly buy other games like Resistance, Motorstorm, Warhawk and Infamous if they got remastered. You really think I should spend extra to buy a PS3 (£290) on top of my PS4 (£350) for a backcatalog? You want me to chose 720p30 with no DLC over 1080p60 with DLC? No thanks.

Doesnt apply to people who didnt and dont own a PS3... Which happens to be a lot of people. 10million plus, so "most gamers" did not end up owning both consoles last gen.

Guess we are in the same situation. I borrowed a PS3 a few weeks before my launch PS4 was due to arrive, just so I can play Uncharted trilogy and a few other exclusives (didn't really enjoy the others honestly).

I would really counter-argue that very few people ended having both last gen consoles. There might be a disproportionate amount of them commenting on forums, but in reality having two very similar consoles is wasteful on many levels.
