Splatoon is a very serious contender for my game of generation so far

Games adored by the vast majority like bayonetta 2, smash bros wii u, and blood borne are way better contestants for game of the generation, and even they fall short of previous contenders such as uncharted 2, mario galaxy, ocarina of time, gta v, metroid prime, etc.

We all know that huge impact on reviewers had initial lack of content, 2 months after release we have double of that content.

Did they fix the local multiplayer options, or customizable lobbies/games, or voice chat? Honestly splatoon just has too many problems as of now to even be a contender for gotg. It takes one step forward with artwork, but takes 2 steps back by not matching the standards set in other fps games.

Smash, bayonetta, and blood borne are all great contenders in their respective genre, matching and surpassing previous standards set before them.
