Not sure if you saw this, but apparently the game outputs at 1080 on Wii U.

Read your own source, he got it right with 900p! It outputs 1080p (upscaled), but it renders only 1600x900.

Every console game rendering above 720p outputs in 1080p because most TVs wouldn't understand resolutions between 1280x720 and 1920x1080.
