I thought of this when the WiiU first came out. I also realized the problem. Using physical cards for online wouldn't work because people would cheat. No one would actually shuffle their decks or anything else relating to following deck rules. This would only work locally with two gamepads, one tv and the two players forcing each other to follow the rules. Digital decks is the only route to go and ofcourse that would work anywhere.
