Just wish we had proportional representation system here in Canada. Sometimes, well a lot of times for me i want to vote for a certain candidate but not their party. Back in days i would have preferred Jack Layton as Prime Minister but i didn't think our local NDP candidate was the better choice of the main three. In a way it starts to feel like your vote is a lost cause unless you are voting for the two likely to win.

As for this election and many others, it comes down to how the economy is doing. If the recent rate cut is any indication, the economy is not doing good at all despite what they keep on repeating to make things look better than they are. Betting big on natural resource exports has not worked out well with the crashing of the oil prices and thus the decline of the dollar. The imports are getting more and more expensive and people are getting hit with it. None of the parties have really talked about what their platform for this is. Currently they are too busy poking fun at each other and other politician nonsense.

We'll see how it goes.
