Every comic and shounen hero whose run last more than a few episodes/chapters does. You can't have dozens or hundreds of victories over your enemies just by merely hitting a little harder each time. That would be boring.

superman went from stronger than a locamotive to bench pressing planets over the decades

goku went from power level 130somthing to 1000,000,000,000,000......... or OVER 9,0000! from dragonball to dragonball z

so yeah, they just hit a little harder every new story line or arc.
